Re: music suggestions?
Thu, March 25, 2004 - 6:09 PMI would say a good psychadelic trance mix, which is pretty much my standard. Sometimes I go for some farout IDM like autechre . -

Re: music suggestions?
Fri, March 26, 2004 - 3:07 AMAlso being older, and coming from the rock world, I found old Orbital and old Chemical Brothers to be really friendly-sounding.

Re: music suggestions?
Fri, March 26, 2004 - 3:49 AMThe most important factor I'd say is you immediately pre-trip enviornment.
I had kind of a revelation after going into a hole (whole) after seeing starwars.
Much like one school may say that dreams are just random synapse firings. My entire trip was starwars based. There wasn't even any jungian long term pattern recognition.
I think the ideal K trip... at least one that really puts you inside of your head.. is at least a day after work, or any intense experience. No possibility for external stimuli, nothing that brings back memories, etc.
Maybe I'm just a utilitarian. But K is definately the most profoundly developemental drug I've ever experienced. I don't care to have and every-day-fodder influencing my adventure inside. -

Re: music suggestions?
Fri, April 2, 2004 - 2:01 PMWhen I've had total silence(like a cave or isolation tank) I've heard the music it makes in my head, which is like being inside an accordian the size of a mountain, with wind tunnels rushing through your head, all running through harmonizers, delays, pitch shifters (definitely slowed down) and reversed.I loved experimenting with music with it, and of course found that my music sounded most amazing with it.The second favorite was a moog synthesizer version of Ravels Bolero, it seems to work perfect timing wise. I would tend toward more dark ambient music, like Lustmorde and Organum. Theres a whole series of Drone cds.I think drone works very well...I prefer things that don't have surprising moments that jump out at you and take you somewhere else.I havn't attempted k in many years though...Once I had a conversation with God( being raised Athiest) I decided it was too delusional for me, but I'll never forget my journeys and what they taught me.I still have to work on the painting that were shown to me. I've watched people get obsessive with this stuff and start pissing blood and ruining their lives, so please be careful.

Re: music suggestions?
Sat, June 19, 2004 - 10:15 PMyes, drones and beatless music is good.
my ULTIMATE EXPERIENCE suggestion has to be:
The Harmonic Choir - Hearing Solar Winds
I won't describe it, don't want to ruin the experience. Only I'll say that it is ambient beatless. This stuff is serious journey music!
Get it and you won't be dissapointed.
I only did K once, with a very spiritual intention, in a safe place with a close friend observing, injected 1.5 ml, and listening to the Harmonic Choir. I don't need to ever do it again after this experience. -

Re: music suggestions?
Sun, September 19, 2004 - 10:24 AMKetamine makes me universe sensitive. I merge with vibrations everywhere. Breathing and meditation picks up intense frequencies within computer drives, water drops, skytrains passing by, and any other audio sample. I often find that music is distracting, but then there are times that I prefer pre-made. Everything psytrance, IDM, ambient, minimal. From my understanding Keta has an effect on hearing and lower frequencies are picked up in a priority, and are heard easier. I think this is why Jungle and base were always a delight for me.
Proper use of bathtubs can link you to an incredible universe of audio, but be safe. -

Sun, September 19, 2004 - 2:22 PMThis is one thing I have to admit, I am one of the best people to be in the spaceship with. This isn't KetaEgo talking, I'm just renowned in several pockets of society and am often sought after. There are many tricks I know and understand the borders of saftey. Alas I've given up my ignition keys to others and retired even though I still have alot to learn. Right now I'm trying to bring as much back as possible before the I lose the translation. -

music + full environment suggestions
Fri, January 14, 2005 - 10:53 PMmusic really never "gets me" on ketamine- i usually go into visual media by using some generic goa electronic music in combination with large screen video input or fucked up computer graphics/scans (robert williams art projected across the living room walls/ceiling creates a nice portal). usual doses around 150 mg K in booster dose intervals (about every 15-30 min until desired effect is reached) - to go into the auditory input w/ more depth i usually combine K w/ a medium dose lsd (~200mcg) and start the K about an hour in. with this dosing frequency of i.m. K i find it's helpful to have someone with a steady hand and the abilty to still read mg/ml concentractions accurately.

Re: music suggestions?
Sun, July 31, 2005 - 12:54 PMhey y'all.... just found this group, and very happy to have done so : )
i'm mostly a rock fan, so maybe these three will help:
Peter Gabriel's Last Temptation of Christ
Radiohead's Kid A and Amnesiac albums (Pyramid Song, Like Spinning Plates, You and Whose Army especially)
musical tastes/needs during K can vary wildly, from light trippy space/trance (Cafe del Mar Vol 4) to darker stuff, Aphex Twin and Autechre, Boards of Canada (beautiful place in the country EP)
also egyptian/moroccan/arabic music tends to go well for me, organic and hypnotic rhythms...
generally, for me at least, loud vocals tend to be offputting, think more in terms of soundtrack music than traditional rock...

Re: music suggestions?
Tue, August 9, 2005 - 12:54 PMSpot on - gotta be Echoes from the album. Else if uve ever heard the Softmachine.
Electronic - maybe some Psy Chill: Androcell, Bluetech, Pitch Black.
Somethin a bit more gritty: Higher intellingence agency, some autechre, aphex etc.
Damn though when I woz a kiddy used to stomp to Gabba for hours on K at Squats in London - depends what vibe/experince u want. I recommend somethin smooth for a first time, an not at a party. Make sure the dose is over 100mg so they get a good n full insight. -

Re: music suggestions?
Sat, July 22, 2006 - 6:16 PMHaven't done k in a long time... the best disc for me was "A Peripheral Blur" James Plotkin & Mark Spybey... From discogs.com :
"This is the first collaboration between these two well known sound manipulators. Peripheral Blur is well named: something always seems to appear briefly at the borders of auditory perception. Mark Spybey contributed toy sounds and vocals as source material while James Plotkin used guitars as sound generators. Sounds shift focus and density in a way that escapes exact definition and encourages listening investment."
Stereolab's "The First Of The Microbe Hunters" was pretty awesome too..
I agree with the "Swarm of Drones" idea... I haven't heard the first 2 in that series, but I have #3, "A Storm of Drones"...very very submersive 3cd set
Sometimes I found music (esp. with a beat) annoying on large insufflated doses... it would be trying to take me somewhere that was not in the same direction that the k wanted to take me...

Re: music suggestions?
Thu, August 3, 2006 - 7:29 AMNice soft, I might even go so far as to say "classical", music is great with ketamine(or is that the other way around?:)) Anyways, music that is too loud can be a distraction. So, keep the volume on low. Some prefer the isolation method with k. Others prefer some stimulation and "going in" with a friend or friends. Group exploration. My friend and I, many moons ago, used Bjork's debut, and The Orb's live/evil 93/39 album as our soundtrack de preferer;)
Anyone else have fave music while enjoying the dance with lady ketamina?
p.s. I don't dance with her, anymore, as she seems to be very selfish with my time;)
peace...

Re: music suggestions?
Thu, April 9, 2009 - 10:21 AMPersonally, Ketamine makes me come out of myself and observe everything from a different angle - whether that's fucked up, or a relief. So, I normally chose out-there music such as these albums:
"Hail To The Thief", by Radiohead,
"Kid A", also by Radiohead,
the rave CD: "Freakstyle Recycled", an hour long hardstyle gluttony, mixed by Psycho Keaton,
and of course "One More With Feeling" - the greatest hits from Placebo, when I want my brain racing and am taking Ketamine to find another way around a problem, or fork.
Perhaps you'll have a little fun.
I hope you have a downloading program.

Re: music suggestions?
Thu, October 29, 2009 - 11:01 PMI can meld into most any music while on K. Just to set the tone, I partake by means of what I call doin the hokey pokey."
For those of you who remember the Sound Factory NYC, that was how I stated my day off. Or should I say night and day, day and night. When the typical 12 hour club experience was over I had countless hits of E, plus I love to smoke very good weed all night. To be honest with you all, I thought the whole night through where the party was going to really begin. When I returned home, I would play some similar "Sound Factory" music and do the "hokey pokey." Minutes later as I was fixed to my couch. The audio of the music and visual of the candles made me believe I was still at the club. I saw in textures and was clearly into an alternate dimension. I had profound thought and clarity which very much intrigues me about it today....
